Directed by: Sangeeth Sivan
Written by: Linda Deol and Jaswinder Singh Baath
Star Cast: Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Neha Sharma, Kristina Akhiva and Annu Kapoor
Star Rating: 2/5 Stars
What`s Good: Few performances, the monkey sequences and locations
What`s Bad: Script, Illogical action sequences, direction, Music and Editing
(Script)
Linda Deol`s story is so normal and outdated con drama, which we have seen in so many David Dhawan`s comedy Films. She written an very dull plot for an hit Franchise of YPD. It is surely an dull debut for Sunny Deol`s wife Pooja AKA Linda Deol. Her story turns arround Dharam (Dharmendra), who has two sons Karamveer (Sunny Deol) and Gajodhar (Bobby Deol). While Paramveer is employee in London, but his younger son Gajodhar is his partner in bad works. Both Dharam and Gajodhar lives in Varanasi. One day they meet with Sir Yograj Khanna (Annu Kapoor), who is businessman in London. Dharam asks Gajodhar to woo his daughter Suman (Neha Sharma), who is big fan of Salman Khan. Gajodhar changes his name to Prem (because Prem is Salman Khan`s popular character name) and romances Suman. Even Dharam and Gajodhar lands in London with same motive, where they meet Karamveer who was living in mistake that his father and brother are now living good lives. Soon, Dharam and Gajodhar gets shock when Khanna tells them that Suman is an adopted daughter and her biological daughter is Reet (Kristina Akheeva), who organises painting exhibitions and she is attracted to Paramveer. Now, Dharam asks to Gajodhar to woo Reet. For this, Dharam cooks up a new story and tells to Khanna that he has twin sons and name of his second son is Q, who is much interested in painting. Q is about to be exposed in front of Reet, when he can`t paint but Einstin comes to his rescue. In other side, Khanna invites Q as an chief guest on the opening ceremoney of club, where Paramveer exposed to his brother and father after drinking wine. Does Paramveer exposed his own people? Climax gives all answers.
Jaswinder Singh Baath failed to create an fun filled film as an screenplay writer. The film is designed as comedy, but there are hardly any comic moment in the film. Dialogues are dull and meaningless. Even some lines doesn`t suits to the character.
(Star Performances)
Dharmendra does a very average job. He failed to hold comedy in many sequences. Sunny Deol is only actor who impressed little bit with his acting, but he also looks embarrased in shouting sequences. Bobby Deol fails to make any mark. He over reacted in lots of sequences. Neha Sharma is cute and natural as Suman. She didn`t get much screen space, but yes she impressed with her natural acting. Kristina Akhiva does an good job and she also add an glamour value in the film. Annu Kapoor is unable to make audience laugh. Anupam Kher and Johnny Leaver failed to impress with their comedy.
(Direction and other aspects)
The captain of the ship, Sangeeth Sivan, failed to pick a weak script with his narration. He made the drama so ridiculous with his weak direction. Sharib-Toshi`s music is okay. Kumaar`s lyrics are engaging. Bosco Ceaser`s chorecography is okay, actually they failed to take good dance steps from Deols. Chirag Jain`s cinematography is outstanding.
(My Word)
Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 is an dull comedy, which can`t entertain the audience with its comedy. Only hardcore fans of Deols, will like this sequal to YPD.
(Box Office Perdictions)
YPD2 is released with 2000 screens in India. Film will surely take good opening due to brand value of YPD. Especially in East Punjab Territory (Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and Himachal Pardesh) film will take earth shattering opening.
